Hithium, a Chinese energy storage company, unveiled three innovative products at its Eco Day event in Beijing. The new releases include a 6.25 MWh Lithium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS), a Sodium-ion Battery designed for utility-scale storage, and an installation-free home microgrid system.
6.25 MWh Lithium-ion BESS
Hithium’s Lithium-ion battery energy storage system, known as ∞Power, has a capacity of 6.25 MWh. It can be configured for either two or four-hour durations. In a 2-hour configuration, the battery cell is 587 Ah. While in a 4-hour scenario, the cell reaches 1175 Ah. The highest capacity lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell yet, the 1175 Ah model is on track for mass production. In preparation, Hithium plans to begin global delivery of the 6.25 MWh BESS by the second quarter of 2025.
Sodium-ion Battery for Utility-Scale Storage
Hithium has developed the ∞Cell N162Ah, a Sodium-ion Battery cell designed for large-scale energy storage projects. The sodium-ion cell leverages a polyanionic cathode paired with a hard carbon anode. It also incorporates advanced materials to enhance conductivity, cycle life, and performance across temperature ranges. With a cycle life exceeding 20,000 cycles, it promises superior performance and safety. Global sampling of the 162 Ah sodium-ion cell is already underway, with mass production slated for late 2025.
Installation-Free Home Microgrid
Hithium’s HeroES system introduces an installation-free home microgrid solution. The system comprises a smart storage module and a smart control module, called the SynergyBox. This plug-and-play system can be installed in just 30 minutes, significantly reducing installation time and cost. HeroES is powered by a machine learning algorithm that enhances home energy efficiency by 10%. The system will be available for delivery globally in the third quarter of 2025.
